Pretty Important Public Service Announcement, Readers:

Okay, listen up, planners and last-minute flight bookers: China's National Holiday this year is 8 days long, not 7. That's because this year, the Mid-Autumn Festival falls on October 6, so the two holidays this year are combined.

That's right – October 1 to October 8. Full week plus a bonus day, like a dumpling with extra filling.

You'd be amazed (or maybe not?) how many people we've talked to who think it ends on the 7th – like it always has. Old habits die hard. But nope, this year's calendar got the State Council treatment and they tacked on an extra day for reasons that probably involve boosting domestic tourism and snack consumption.

Now granted, we announced this update late last year, but... in fairness, that is plenty of time to forget the good news.

This year, the holiday schedule is as follows:

- Holiday runs from October 1-8

Adjusted Working Days:

• Sunday, Sept 28

• Saturday, Oct 11

Anyway, now you know. Send this to your friends, coworkers, group chats, and anyone trying to argue about whether you need to be back in the office on the 9th. (You do.)
