City to Host Shanghai-Taipei Forum on Dec. 28

Shanghai will host this year's Shanghai-Taipei City Forum on December 28, authorities from the two cities announced on Friday.

Under the theme of how technology can change life, the event will feature discussions and experience-sharing in sectors such as tech-enabled healthcare, rail transportation and elderly care.

New memorandums are expected to be signed during the event, further strengthening ties and collaboration between the two cities.

Launched in 2010 and hosted alternately by Shanghai and Taipei, Taiwan, the annual forum has served as an important platform for dialogue to enhance cross-Strait connections. To date, the two cities have signed 47 memorandums on exchange and cooperation.
