New Immigrant Service Station Opens in Xintiandi

An "Immigrant Integration Service Demonstration Station" has officially opened in the Huaihai Road M. Subdistrict. This facility offers both foreign and local residents quicker access to essential public services, including exit-entry permits, traffic management, and public security.
The new service center provides 14 frequently used services through both on-site consultation and online appointment systems.
It also features a one-stop government service terminal that allows users to handle paperwork more efficiently.
Foreign residents can now apply for residence permits, register pets, or handle driver's license matters more conveniently.
To ensure smooth operations, city and district police departments provided specialized staff training and introduced remote assistance for complex cases.

The service aims to improve community integration by helping international residents settle down and easily access information.
Nestled in the heart of the Xintiandi international community, the area is renowned for its unique blend of traditional Shanghai charm and global culture.
This community has nine residential compounds and 4,000 residents, 10 percent of whom are foreigners. Many of these residents are professionals with mobility and diverse needs.
Additionally, the subdistrict has established bilingual volunteer teams and legal guidance resources to encourage shared norms and collaboration among residents.
Notably, around 40 percent of the chairs of local neighborhood committees are new foreign residents, indicating their increasing involvement in community governance.
