Carbon Neutrality Expo Highlights Greener Future
The 2026 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo in Technologies, Products and Achievements showcased China's carbon emission management progress.
Nearly 300 companies from 12 countries and regions participated in the three-day expo at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, which opened Wednesday.
Large state-owned companies like State Grid, China Energy Engineering Group, China Huaneng Group, and China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group led the way in carbon neutrality by adopting the latest wind, solar, nuclear, and energy storage technologies.
To improve the circular economy, Oriental International, L'Oreal, and Shanghai Chengtou Group presented energy-efficient utilization models.
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Construction Bank of China, Pudong Development Bank, and Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank also displayed their services at the expo site to guarantee financial support for a greener future.
"We have exhibited a whole ecosystem here to make carbon neutrality more accessible," said Zhu Minglin, deputy director of Shanghai Development and Reform Commission.
From a sweater to napkins, "zero carbon" is practical in many situations, including industrial parks and architecture.
HiCould Data Center Technology Co Ltd made its debut at the expo. The world's first seawater cooling machine powered by sea wind was displayed by China's leading underwater data center equipment and service provider. The innovative technology can save data centers up to 30 percent more energy than land-based ones.
Shuai Yichi Machinery Equipment Co Ltd, a private company that recycles aluminum, has seen demand rise in recent years as carmakers need lighter, low-carbon raw materials, said Yu Junguo, a senior executive.
