Showcasing Development Of Jiading's Sports Industry

The 3rd Jiading District Citizens' Sports Meeting was held recently at Shanghai Citizens' Sports Park, showcasing the development and achievements of the suburban district's sports industry.

More than 29 mass sports events were covered, including football, basketball, beach volleyball, orienteering, pickleball, fishing and fitness yoga.

As a benchmark event for coordinated sports development in the Yangtze River Delta region, this year's Jiading Urban Orienteering Series adopted a centralized competition system.

It set up five themed routes such as Anting future, ancient charm of Nanxiang and Jiading industry smart chain routes, attracting about 800 participants.

Participants could not only enjoy the scenery but also take part in check-in activities. Those who completed the race had the chance to win slots for the 2026 New Year's run, as well as tickets for events such as the 2026 Formula E World Championships Shanghai and the 31st Volvo China Open.

A sports market was set up at the event site. The sci-tech sports experience area offered programs like simulated formula racing, virtual rowing, spinning bikes and table tennis robots, allowing visitors to experience the hardcore charm of sci-tech sports.

The 4th Shanghai Citizens' Sports Park and Sports & Entertainment Carnival was also held. After three years of development, the carnival has grown from six events with 16,000 participants in its first year to eight events this year, attracting more participants and becoming a public sports carnival brand.
