Shanghai issues travel pass for inbound visitors
With strong recovery in inbound tourism, Shanghai has introduced a one-day travel permit to facilitate exploration of the city by foreign visitors.
The "Shanghai Travel Pass-1 Day," available on Shanghai's Mobility-as-a-Service (SH MaaS) app, known as Suishenxing, includes unlimited public transit and entrance to popular cultural and tourist sites.
It is designed for short-term foreign tourists in Shanghai.
From now until September 15, the Shanghai Travel Pass is priced at 249 yuan (US$35) for the 2025 Shanghai Summer International Consumption Season, offering international tourists a reduced cost to enjoy Shanghai.
How many places does the "Shanghai Travel Pass" cover?
Pass holders have unlimited Metro, city bus and Huangpu River ferry trips for 24 hours. The package includes access to four prominent attractions: the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, a Huangpu River boat ride, Shenyuan Garden, the Aurora Museum, the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, the chi K11 Art Museum and the Shanghai Film Museum.
History enthusiasts, literary youth, and families can choose their own exclusive paths.
How to purchase the pass?
Foreign tourists can scan the QR code above, or enter the activity page on the "入境通Easy Go" platform and find "Shanghai Coupon Pack" to make the purchase.
It supports international credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard, as well as Alipay, making it easier for overseas tourists to pay.
How to use the pass?
After payment, you will automatically obtain the transportation and cultural and tourism rights and interests. Select the effective date and enter personal information.
The first scan at the subway turnstile, bus card-swiping machine, or ferry turnstile will automatically activate it.
Within 24 hours after activation, you can use public transportation. For admission to attractions, you need to select the visit date (the use date is one day) on the activation page and submit information for confirmation and activation. The entry time is subject to the operating hours of each scenic spot.
