The eighth China International Import Expo, which will be held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, reflects the country's push for high-level opening-up as the event continues to attract growing global participation and rising confidence in the Chinese market at a time when global trade faces increasing uncertainties.

More than just an event, it has become a platform that embodies China's pledge to advance synergized development, share growth opportunities and foster international cooperation.

Japan's Kaneka Ubiquinol, a prominent supplier of raw materials for ubiquinol, will make its debut at this year's CIIE with the primary goal of finding Chinese partners that share its values.

"This year, we've observed strong signals from China regarding its continued expansion of openness, and the CIIE serves as a microcosm of China's open policies," said Kazuki Takita, head of sales and marketing at Kaneka Ubiquinol APAC.

"The expo holds irreplaceable strategic value for the company as we seek to deeply expand into the rapidly growing China market. It serves as a bridge of trust connecting the world," Takita said.

This year's CIIE will feature over 4,100 exhibitors from 155 countries, regions and international organizations, with an exhibition area surpassing 430,000 square meters, setting a new record in scale.

Siemens Healthineers, a German health technology company, will have its largest-ever exhibition space of 1,000 sq m, where the company, which has six research and development and manufacturing bases and two global innovation centers in China, will showcase a range of cutting-edge innovations.

"China has become a vital source of global innovation, providing substantial development momentum and vast opportunities. We look so much forward to the CIIE," said Jerry Wang, president of Siemens Healthineers Greater China.

The CIIE has also attracted returning exhibitors by enabling multinational companies to deepen collaborations with local stakeholders, thereby better addressing the needs of the Chinese market.

Bayer, a German multinational life sciences company, will feature several "CIIE babies", including the first intelligent CT high-pressure injection system and accessories approved in China, which facilitate personalized medication for patients.

The intelligent CT high-pressure injection system and accessories, which were introduced at the CIIE in 2021, received approval for production in China in June, marking a significant step in the company's commitment to continuously invest in China, said Hu Wenjing, general manager of Bayer Radiology in China.

"The CIIE has accelerated Bayer's growth in the Chinese market. Leveraging the expo's powerful influence, the product not only garnered attention, but also expedited the conversion from an exhibit to a commodity," Hu said.
