Juneyao Airlines adds new route for summer travel
Juneyao Airlines launched its inaugural direct flight between Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, on June 28.
The Shanghai–Kuala Lumpur route is expected to boost economic, tourism, and cultural exchanges while expanding travel options this summer.
Juneyao Airlines already maintains an extensive network in Southeast Asia.
The company is set to increase Shanghai–Kuala Lumpur flights to one or two daily services during peak seasons to meet growing travel demand and enhance regional cooperation, according to an airline representative.
During the peak summer travel season from July 1 to Aug 31, Juneyao Airlines plans to operate around 24,000 flights along domestic, international, and regional routes.
International flights are expected to exceed 4,150, a 4 percent increase year-on-year, with Japan and South Korea routes seeing a 19 percent increase.
The Shanghai Pudong–Manchester route will be expanded to six weekly flights.
Domestically, new routes such as Hangzhou–Qingdao–Hailar and Nanjing–Dalian–Hailar will be added, alongside enhanced services to Northwest China.
Juneyao Airlines will launch its Legoland-themed flight from Shanghai to Beijing on July 15, featuring a family-friendly cabin design inspired by the upcoming Shanghai Legoland Resort.
Passengers on the flight will receive limited-edition souvenirs cobranded by Juneyao Airlines and Legoland.
