Shanghai Disney Resort announced on Nov 3 that it welcomed its 100 millionth visitor last week since opening in 2016. On the same day, the resort unveiled a plan to build its fourth themed hotel.

According to the TEA Global Experience Index 2024 released by the Themed Entertainment Association on Oct 23, Shanghai Disneyland recorded a record attendance of 14.7 million visitors in 2024. The park ranked fifth among the world's top 25 amusement and theme parks and remained the most visited in China.

The new hotel will be located adjacent to the main entrance of Shanghai Disneyland and will feature new shopping and dining facilities. It will join the existing Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, Toy Story Hotel, and a third hotel currently under construction.

Shanghai Disney Resort is also advancing several major expansion projects, including a new Spider-Man-themed land, which is set to become the park's ninth themed area, an expansion of the popular "Soaring Over the Horizon" attraction, and a new residential complex for front-line employees.
