The Shanghai Sharks won their first CBA championship in 24 years on Friday, beating Zhejiang Guangsha 103-82 at Shanghai Gymnasium to close out the 2025-26 finals 4-1.

The victory gave Shanghai its second league title and came in the 30th anniversary year of the club. The Sharks last won the CBA championship in the 2001-02 season, when Yao Ming led the team before moving to the NBA.

Shanghai entered Game 5 with three chances to seal the series after winning the first three games, including a comeback in Game 1, a last-second win in Game 2 and a 33-point victory in Game 3.

Guangsha, the defending champion, avoided a sweep with a 101-93 home win in Game 4.

No team in CBA Finals history has come back from a 3-1 deficit, and Shanghai made sure that record stayed intact by controlling the closing minutes in front of its home crowd.
