Philanthropist and Conservation Icon Jane Goodall Passes Away at 91

Jane Goodall, the world-renowned primatologist and conservationist, has died of natural causes in California at the age of 91.

The announcement was made by the Jane Goodall Institute on its social media accounts on October 1.

Recognized as the "World's Foremost Wildlife Expert of the 20th Century" by TIME magazine and a UN Messenger of Peace, Dr Goodall was celebrated for her groundbreaking research on wild chimpanzees in Tanzania.

She was the first to document the animals using tools, a discovery that reshaped our understanding of both chimpanzees and humans.

Beyond her scientific work, she was a dedicated activist. She founded the Jane Goodall Institute, a leading wildlife conservation organization, and Roots & Shoots, a global youth environmental program. Her life and inspirational work have been featured in over 40 films.
