The first-round essay evaluation results for the 2026 "Master Skills Change Your Future" English Talent Show are now available for viewing! Following a thorough evaluation by our expert panel, outstanding students from both primary and secondary schools have moved to the next round: The Themed Video Speech Session.

Guidelines and Timeline for the Themed Video Speech Session

Advancing contestants must adhere to the official requirements and meet the deadline for submitting their themed video speech entries via the registration portal (www.citynewsservice.cn/english-talent-show).

1. Video Submission Period

April 27-May 13, 2026

Qualified participants are required to record a speech video based on their previously submitted composition.

Video Rules and Requirements:

* No script reading allowed; speeches must be delivered naturally from memory.

* Submission deadline: Upload to the registration system by 23:59 on May 13.

* Maximum length: 3 minutes.

* Size & Format: Maximum 200MB, in MP4, AVI, MOV, or other common video formats.

* Aspect Ratio: 16:9 or 4:3 landscape. Ensure stable footage with no shaking or backlighting.

* Audio: Voice must be clear, with no background noise.

* Props, PPT slides, and virtual backgrounds are not permitted.

Note: Please submit a vertical portrait photo of the participant along with the video. The photo will be displayed on the online voting page and at the offline event venue. Ensure the image is clear and presentable.

Photo Specifications:

* Maximum file size: 5MB

* Background: A white or light-colored background is preferred.

* Usage: Your photo will be displayed on the video voting page and at the final offline event. Please ensure the photo is clear and presentable.

3. Result Announcement

* The top 20 participants in each group will advance to the On-Site Showcase on June 11, 2026.

* Video review results and the online voting link will be released in early June on the Shanghai Daily WeChat account.

* Finalists will also compete for the Popularity Award through online voting.
