Rainbow footbridge

A rainbow footbridge is being built east of Chenhang Highway and Puxing Highway in Minhang's Pujiang Town. Approximately 257 meters long, the new footbridge will span Chenhang Highway, planned green spaces and the Zhoupu Canal. After completion, this project will connect the Metro transit station to significant industrial parks, making neighborhood pedestrian crossings safer. It supports Caohejing Development Zone transformation and upgrade, meeting regional development needs. It is near the underground Metro station, the zone's service center in Pujiang High-Tech Park and other important sites, including the neighboring "Music Lake." This location acts as a crucial link between the ecological park, the research and innovation park in the south, and the northern transportation hub.

Park facelift

The upgraded public space of about 23,000 square meters has revitalized the core area of the Grand neoBay. In the Jiangchuan Road Subdistrict, the space runs along Beihengjing Creek and links to the Dong'er River in the south and Jianchuan Road in the north. Enhancements include revitalizing riverbank environments, connecting routes under bridges and placing sculptures. The waterfront has become a thriving innovation and technology hub with green communal spaces and natural relaxation.

Metro section completed

After engineering acceptance of two shield machines in the underground section between Hujin Highway Station and Dongchuan Road Station, the fourth section of Shanghai Metro Line 23 has completed the construction of this single tunnel interval. The fourth section of Line 23 consists of one station and two tunnel intervals: Dongchuan Road Station, the interval between Hujin Highway Station and Dongchuan Road Station, and the interval between Jinping Road Station and Dongchuan Road Station. The 28.6-kilometer Line 23 will have 22 stations in Minhang and Xuhui districts, linking Minhang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Zizhu High-tech Zone, Xuhui riverside area and Xujiahui business center.

Medical accolades

Two Minhang subdistricts won accolades for their health and wellness programs at the 2025 Shanghai Municipal Outstanding Health Subdistricts and Town Development Case Selection. Gumei Road Subdistrict's "Medical-Educational Alliance: Establishing a Dual-Track Health Program for Minors to Safeguard the Development of Children with Special Needs" was one of the city's top 10 exemplary instances. Zhuanqiao Town's "Jujing Classroom Health Project" was a top municipal case. The health education program in Gumei Road Subdistrict emphasizes health management for children. In the first phase, 30 percent of the 566 participating children improved their BMI over six months, and 96 percent of their parents acquired health knowledge. Ten traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in Zhuanqiao Town will provide tiered programs for nursery, primary and secondary schools. The classes cover seasonal wellness, acupoint therapy and baduanjin, a traditional Chinese wellness exercise.

Green space

A public leisure place in Wujing Town combines cultural significance with different recreational activities for all ages. This revived green space to the east of the Wujing Town Public Service Center, has four functional zones for smart interaction, fashion, geriatric activities and children's science education. Cherry blossoms and Chinese tallow trees decorate the space, which has 72.4 percent vegetation.

Rehabilitating villages

Jiuxing City, a pilot project for rehabilitating urban villages in Minhang, is nearing completion. The location will become a new business complex after being the city's largest building and decorative materials market. The main structure is complete, while the Xingdong, Xingzhong and Jiuxing roads are under development. The commercial buildings and pathways around the site are nearly finished. One million square meters of floor space is planned, with six to eight above-ground stories and three underground levels. The development will provide a full range of leisure, retail and community activities.

Minhang's seven 2026 commercial building renovation projects demonstrate its innovative urban regeneration approach as it seeks new ways to revive commercial premises. Several office buildings in the region have been renovated in recent years, including the Shanghai Hongqiao Noah Wealth Center and the Ali Center. District authorities and relevant businesses are transforming commercial buildings into multipurpose, diversified and welcoming urban spaces.

The Pujiang Country Park

The park is becoming a winter wonderland for sports and exploration enthusiasts. Fallen leaves bathe the circular woodland trails in golden hues within the forest recreation area, especially between 2-3pm.
