Vote Now For The 2026 English Talent Show Video Speeches

The video speech shortlist for the 2026 "Master Skills Change Your Future" English Talent Show has been announced, following the completion of the essay review.

Forty young voices from the two groups – Grade 1-5 and Grade 6-12 – have earned their place to move one step closer to the spotlight and will advance to the final live showcase.

The complete list is as follows:

Group A – Primary School (Grade 1-5)

Group B – Secondary School (Grade 6-12)

We will launch the online voting session and on-site showcase. The specific arrangements are as follows:

Popularity Award Selection: May 22-26

To celebrate audience favorites, the Popularity Award Selection will be held from May 22 to May 26!

● Videos of the 40 finalists will be showcased on the official platform for online public voting.

● Voting rules:

○ Please register and log in to vote.

○ Each mobile phone number may vote once per day for a single video.

○ Vote manipulation is strictly prohibited. Verified cases will result in disqualification.

The participant with the most votes in each group will receive the Popularity Award, to be presented during the on-site showcase.

On-Site Showcase: June 11

Venue: 2/F, Auditorium, Shanghai United Media Group, 755 Weihai Road, Shanghai

● Format: The finalists will deliver an on-site English script-free speech and participate in a Q&A session with judges.

● Guidelines:

○ Use of scripts, slides, or props is not permitted.

○ Primary school group: 2-minute speech for each participant

○ Secondary school group: 3-minute speech for each participant

Award and Honors (for each group)

○ Champion: 1 per group

○ Runner-up: 1 per group

○ Third place: 1 per group

○ Rising Star Award: 4th-10th place in the final showcase

○ Showcase Award: Winners from 11th place onward

Each recipient will be awarded an official certificate (indicating placement), and a medal.

The champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up will each receive special prizes provided by Norwegian high-end office furniture brand Flokk and HÅG.

Special Honor:

Popularity Award (1 winner per group): honor certificate, medal (awarded to the participant with the highest number of online votes in their respective group)

Spelling Bee winner group and MVP:

Following last year's tradition, we're bringing back the Spelling Bee segment during the showcase – this time exclusively for Group B students!

○ 6 finalists from Group B will be selected to form two teams of three.

○ Teams will compete in a 15-minute on-stage spelling challenge.

○ Scores will be tracked live, and the top-scoring team will win additional prizes, the MVP will receive a special prize provided by Flokk and HÅG.

Pre-Showcase Training: May 30

To support our finalists in preparing for the big day, a free in-person training session will be hosted on May 30, led by a British columnist of Shanghai Daily.

● Participation details and event locations will be arranged based on actual circumstances. Shanghai Daily staff will reach out to the participants to confirm attendance and decide specific date.
