Northwest University in Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province, is offering tree-climbing courses aimed at helping students get closer to nature while also developing their bodies and minds, thepaper.cn reported.
The weekly course attracts about 10 students, who don protective gear and climbing equipment as part of the experience. Instructor Chen Chao says the course is quite popular, particularly with female students.
According to Chen, the course has been running for almost three years and is part of the college’s outdoor activities. He also says climbing challenges students to step out of their comfort zones and gain a different view of the world.
