Application process for a foreigner's residence permit for work in China

Residence permits are issued to foreigners who reside in China for more than one year. A foreigner shall, within 15 days upon entry with a visa indicating the reason for coming to China, apply for the Work Permit and get it once passing the examination, and then apply to the relevant entry and exit administrative department for Residence Permit with the Work Permit and other relevant materials. Generally, "Foreigner's Residence Permit" shall be marked on the top of the permit. "Work" shall be filled out in the residence reason on the residence permit for work.
