Chinese singer-actor Xiao Zhan named promotion ambassador for the 48th WorldSkills

WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Executive Bureau and WorldSkills International have named young Chinese actor and singer Xiao Zhan as an ambassador to promote the event.

The WorldSkills Competition is the world's largest skills competition, held biennially by WorldSkills International. It demonstrates cutting-edge standards in technical and vocational education and training.

It will take place in Shanghai on September 22-27, 2026, bringing together around 1,400 competitors from over 60 countries and regions to compete in 64 skill disciplines.

According to the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 Organizing Committee, the competition is more than just a distinguished professional competition; it is also a lively worldwide platform that celebrates the power of skills and promotes international youth exchange.

To better engage the public and broaden the campaign's reach, WorldSkills ambassadors are chosen based on their public influence, positive ideals, and broad appeal rather than their technical experience.

As a well-known young Chinese singer and actor with a large fan base both in China and abroad, Xiao Zhan is expected to broaden the competition's reach beyond its typical audience, encouraging more people to realize and understand the worth of skills.

Xiao Zhan released a statement stating that he "was honored to take part in the promotional efforts for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026." He promised to follow the WorldSkills journey with the public and to promote the significance of skills through concrete activities.

This announcement officially launches a new round of promotional activities with the theme "Youth Powering WorldSkills."
