Alibaba introduced the Xuantie C950, its next-generation CPU, in Shanghai on Tuesday. It supports cloud computing, generative AI, high-end robotics, and edge computing at industry-leading levels.

Built on the open-source RISC-V architecture, the processor broke the global RISC-V CPU performance record with a single-core general-purpose score of over 70 points in SPECint2006.

The self-developed AI acceleration engine in Xuantie C950 uses RISC-V's flexibility and customization. It is the first to natively support large models with hundreds of billions of parameters, like Alibaba's Qwen3 and DeepSeek V3.

Alibaba has more than 10 Xuantie CPU models, which have been implemented in nearly 1,000 terminal products across sectors, including servers, robots, new energy vehicles and storage controllers.

Alibaba's financial reports also highlighted significant progress for its semiconductor arm, T-Head (Pingtouge). Its self-developed GPUs have achieved large-scale mass production, with cumulative deliveries reaching 470,000 units as of February 2026.
