Robinson Club, a premium sports resort brand under the German resort holidays leader TUI AG, recently launched its new project in Shanghai's Qingpu district. In partnership with the Shanghai Yacht Club & Resort, it will develop the city's first zero-carbon flagship clubhouse in a world-class lake district — the Robinson Club Shanghai SYC Sailing Port.

This move marks Robinson is introducing its globally renowned "active lifestyle and community culture" vacation model to China for the first time.

Upon completion, the resort will feature about 300 guest rooms alongside comprehensive sports and waterfront facilities. It will boast a sports facility cluster offering nearly 100 activities, including sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

Sailing programs, ranging from beginner courses to regatta training, form the core highlight. The resort will be equipped with the world's most advanced new-energy foiling boats, sailboats, and professional coaches. Guests can also choose other sports, wellness programs, high-end dining experiences, and entertainment activities.

The project aims to build Asia's largest international-grade sailing port, fully leveraging Qingpu's distinctive aquatic advantages. The resort is scheduled to begin operations on Dec 30, 2028.

Committed to ecological protection, the project will collaborate with the Green Design Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Design & Research Institute to align with China's national "timetable" and "roadmap" for peaking carbon emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060.

Song Hua, dean of the Green Design Institute, said that the core concept of the sailing sports complex centers on the dual objectives of green, low-carbon development and industrial growth. "We hope this project will set a Shanghai benchmark in areas like water environment management and energy self-sufficiency, becoming a model for zero-carbon development with potential for global promotion."
