Qingpu District and Midea Group signed a 1.5-billion-yuan (US$211.05 million) embodied intelligence technology platform project after the 2025 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance in July.

The cooperation marks Midea's deep cultivation in artificial intelligence and Qingpu's strategic determination to build an AI highland, boosting the Yangtze River Delta innovation hub.

The signed project focuses on two core scenarios, home and industry, and develops embodied intelligence devices that can adapt to complex home environments and meet the needs of intelligent manufacturing upgrades.

The project promotes the intelligent service ecosystem from the laboratory to homes and factories by relying on a combined technical solution of "data-model-evaluation" and being driven by the dual wheels of technological breakthrough and scenario implementation.

Focusing on four core scenarios, Midea is building full-chain capability from technology research and development to industrial implementation.

In the realm of smart home, it has developed a "home brain" to ensure seamless connectivity between devices and services. In terms of intelligent manufacturing, it has developed a "factory brain" to improve quality and efficiency while achieving flexible production.

In the smart office scenario, it introduces enterprise-level intelligent assistants and information management engines to reshape collaboration and decision-making processes.

At the industry-empowering level, it applies its self-developed AI skills to critical fields such as medical health and industrial robotics, assisting the upstream and downstream industries in making intelligent leaps.
