A man from South China has gone viral after his videos exposing road safety hazards across the city repeatedly prompted timely fixes, Hainan-based Nanguo Metropolis Daily reported.

For two years, the man – dubbed "Ruler Man" by netizens – has spent his free time strolling the sidewalks in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, with a measuring tape to film the smallest safety hazards: an uneven curb, a slightly cracked wall, a path blocked by an errant tree.

But the real shocker? Almost every issue he flagged has been fixed promptly.

"The speed is incredible. I don't know who's fixing it," the man said in one video. He recalled filming a tree blocking a main road, only to find it had vanished 24 hours later.

"Seems like some departmental heads assigned their staff members to monitor my account."

His video comments section has now become a hot list for all of Shenzhen's local glitches, with followers essentially tagging him and using his platform as a high-speed complaint service.

"This is the speed of Shenzhen," wrote one user. Others said that in China, no matter how small the problem is, once you report it, there's an immediate response.
