Minhang District has made strides in new businesses, service provider-research institution collaboration and investor interest due to its strong cluster effect.

At a late February business roundtable and exchange seminar in Xinzhuang Town, Minhang announced a new industrial digitalization joint R&D alliance. Business leaders from over 100 local companies and town government officials attended the roundtable.

Xinzhuang's specialized industries have achieved significant advancements in capability, with integrated circuits and industrial software sectors' industrial value surpassing 20 billion yuan (US$2.9 billion).

The alliance is part of the Minhang Industrial Digital Innovation Center, which has attracted nearly 40 industry chain enterprises in less than a year, becoming a Yangtze River Delta landmark for industrial software development.

This new initiative will leverage a capital base of 30 million yuan to establish four core operations, including a technology component repository and integrated hardware-software application platforms. This is intended to solve corporate R&D challenges and lower innovation costs, creating an industrial ecosystem based on collaborative technology development, resource sharing and research reuse. This arrangement would boost regional industrial digital transformation efficiency.

Over two dozen service providers in emerging industry sectors like high-end manufacturing, digital economy and science and technology innovation were named "Trailblazing Enterprises" and will drive Xinzhuang's economic blueprint.

Officials from Xinzhuang stated that the town aims to focus on two strategic industries: integrating circuits and industrial software, while also placing additional emphasis on professional services to better serve businesses in both the city and the Yangtze River Delta region.

In Meilong Town, a coordinated mechanism for business promotion was put in place, and targeted promotion activities were held.

Four companies signed investment deals on new businesses in the town in February, including a leading hotel management company, a smart logistics technology company, a catering service provider and a biomedical technology company.

The latest investment deals reflect the deep confidence in Meilong's tailored service for corporate registration processes and the setting up of regional headquarters and follow-up measures.

It also used a complete tracking system that keeps one file for each project during the whole process, focusing on industries that need a lot of money and technology, while paying special attention to attracting top companies and developing industry groups.

Another 10 potential investment projects in the region have also made significant progress.

In the south Hongqiao area, leading food supply and catering industry players have formed an industry cluster.

Ben Zhen Yuan Supply Chain Management (Shanghai) Co Ltd officially registered its new location in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District, which would further inject development momentum in the food and supply chain industry sector in the area.

Ben Zhen Yuan Supply Chain Management is a wholly owned unit of A Long Time Ago, a restaurant chain famous for its barbecues and mutton skewers. When becoming fully operational, it is expected to achieve annual sales of 50 million yuan. While empowering its parent company's development, it will also generate new economic growth opportunities for the south Hongqiao area.

Its head of finance said that the south Hongqiao area not only brings together a significant number of leading catering brands, fostering a robust industrial synergy environment, but also delivers efficient services in policy support and resource integration. This has laid a solid foundation for the swift establishment and subsequent operations of the company.
