Hubei traffic police escort private car to save baby boy

Traffic police in Jingzhou City of central China’s Hubei Province escorted a car through 12 consecutive red lights on February 7 to save a baby with severe pneumonia, thepaper.cn reported.

The baby boy’s parents asked traffic police on duty for assistance when they were stuck in traffic on their way to a downtown hospital for emergency treatment. The police cleared the way for them and escorted them to the hospital.

Thanks to the efforts of police, the baby boy was treated on time and is currently in a stable condition.

Yang He, pediatrician from the city’s central hospital, said the boy would have needed a breathing machine if they arrived much later.
