To mark the Dragon Boat Festival that falls today, Shanghai has rolled out a series of traditional Chinese medicine events, offering expatriates and international visitors an opportunity to explore one of China's most profound cultural traditions.

The one-stop service centers for overseas visitors at Pudong and Hongqiao airports is presenting a special Shanghai-style TCM promotion from Thursday to Sunday. Decorated with festive elements, the venues display Shanghai's TCM intangible cultural heritage alongside hands-on wellness experiences led by leading local TCM hospitals.

At Pudong airport's Terminal 2, travelers gathered around a pop-up cultural booth where professionals demonstrated Baduanjin, a traditional qigong exercise known for its health benefits. Visitors also made herbal sachets while learning about the medicinal properties of Chinese herbs through interactive workshops.

An AI-powered TCM diagnostic device proved particularly popular, generating real-time health reports and offering travelers a glimpse into the integration of traditional medicine and modern technology.

At Parkway Medical Center, 12-year-old Raphael Dukek, who experiences allergies, received wellness advice from TCM practitioners.

"I'm definitely going to keep it up. The doctor was so thoughtful," said Dukek, who was advised to perform daily massage techniques to help relieve symptoms.

The event also marked a new step in bringing TCM services to Shanghai's international community. Parkway announced a partnership with Shanghai Yueyang Hospital to establish two TCM specialist studios at Parkway MediCentre Xintiandi, offering regular outpatient services in tuina therapy, rehabilitation, cardiovascular care and health management.
