Following the departure of Typhoon Co-may, Shanghai Pudong International Airport experienced a surge in both inbound and outbound passenger traffic.

On July 31, the airport's immigration inspection station handled a total of 126,000 travelers and over 770 passenger and cargo flights, marking the highest single-day passenger flow since 2020. The station also provided transit services to more than 10,000 direct transfer passengers that day.

Operational efficiency was evident in the departure lounge of Terminal 2, where travelers waited in an orderly manner through immigration. The process was swift, and the officers were professional and friendly, according to a resident departing for a vacation in Germany.

To ensure efficient processing for a larger passenger flow, the airport's immigration inspection station activated an emergency response plan to maintain security and smooth operations.

Additional personnel were deployed on standby around the clock, with inspection channels fully operational during peak hours.

The station authorities also strengthened coordination with the airlines and other relevant agencies. By leveraging the interactive Advance Passenger Information system for real-time flight updates and their self-developed "precision duty assistance system" to analyze passenger flow, they optimized police resource allocation to maximize efficiency.
