Book lovers, mark your calendars! Tickets for the 2025 Shanghai Book Fair go on sale at noon on Thursday (July 31) via the Damai ticketing platform.
The book fair will return from August 13 to 19. Admission to the venue at the Shanghai Exhibition Center requires a ticket, while the Shanghai Book City venue will remain open to the public for free.
The Shanghai Exhibition Center will host both daytime and evening sessions:
- Daytime sessions run from 9am to 4pm (last entry at 3:30pm), with tickets priced at 10 yuan (US$1.4).
- Evening sessions begin at 4:30pm, with indoor activities until 9pm and the popular outdoor "Reading Night Market" open until 10pm. Evening tickets are priced at just 5 yuan.
- The night market will not be open on the final day, August 19.
All tickets are real-name registered, and buyers must provide valid ID when purchasing and entering the venue.
To support all attendees, the Shanghai Exhibition Center will also offer on-site service points, assisting elderly visitors with ticketing, offering entry guidance, and providing accessible services for individuals with disabilities.

- Metro + Book Fair Digital Combo Ticket: For 15 yuan, this combo includes a Shanghai Metro QR single-ride ticket and a one-day book fair pass, usable on a specific date. Available in limited quantities through the Metro App "Metro大都会."
