Shanghai's skyline has gained a new viewing point with the opening of CXCC Summit 58, a high-altitude observation hall in the city's iconic landmark Xintiandi area.

Rising 258 metres above the ground, it is the tallest observation site in the core Xintiandi area.

It offers panoramic views across the Huangpu River, taking in Lujiazui's modern skyscrapers as well as Xintiandi's preserved shikumen buildings.

The space is ingeniously designed with a carbon neutrality concept, featuring transparent layout and scientific viewing configurations that deliver an immersive experience of "soaring in the clouds while taking in the entire city". Unlike conventional observation venues, it emphasizes an open sense of space and view as visitors can appreciate fascinating compositions and the flowing rhythm of light and shadow from any angle.

From the 55th to 58th floors, the venue features indoor and outdoor observation decks, integrating sightseeing, exhibitions, cultural experiences and social functions.

The 55th floor houses eco-exhibition installations centered on carbon neutrality, blending ecological concepts into the sightseeing experience. The 57th and 58th floors are outdoor observation decks, inspired by icebergs and incorporating design elements of the sundial, a traditional Chinese timekeeping device, to create an observation space that fuses artistic beauty with cultural symbolism.

"Pacific" by world-renowned digital artist Refik Anadol is on display on the 55th floor. With the Pacific Ocean as the expressive element, the artificial intelligence-generated digital artwork combines cutting-edge technology with visual art to convey a beautiful vision for a carbon-neutral future in 2060.

Icebergs are the climate archives of the Earth. The designer of The Heart of Iceberg Crown Art Installation ingeniously places an entire iceberg against the skyline of Shanghai. Walking through its interior is a dialogue spanning hundreds of millions of years, as well as a cognitive ritual to recognize that carbon-related issues are intergenerational and irreversible.

The Time Tunnel features stained glass serving as a vessel for the light and shadow of the era, symbolizing the interweaving of civilizations represented by the colors of red, gold, and green.

Ascend slowly on the Floating Island Observation Elevator, lean against the railing, gaze into the distance, and you will witness the overlapping layers of lush greenery and sky-high scenery, experiencing the best of Shanghai's charm during this vertical journey.

Seasonal light shows and high-altitude cultural salons will be launched in the future to enrich visitor experience.
