China's top-ranked golfer Yin Ruoning seeks to defend her title at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, which will be held at Qizhong Garden Golf Club from October 9 to 12.

The field features 82 players, including 10 winners from the 2025 LPGA Tour season. Yin will be joined by strong opponents like 2023 champion Angel Yin and two-time champion Danielle Kang for the title competition.

Yin won in thrilling fashion last year, setting a new 72-hole scoring total of 263 with rounds of 70-66-63-64.

"It was a great memory last year, since so many fans showed up to cheer for me," said Yin, who just turned 23 last month.

"I have been making adjustments in the past two months, hoping to find a fresh form," she added. "But I don't want to give myself too much pressure. Just enjoy the game."

Yin's close friend, current World No.1-ranked Jeeno Thitikul will also return to Shanghai. Thitikul finished in a tie for fifth last year.

Other world's top 25-ranked golfers in the lineup include Minjee Lee, Miyu Yamashita, Rio Takeda, Ariya Jutanugarn, Hye-Jin Choi and Sei Young Kim.

Yin said she hopes to be playing in the same group with Thitikul and Minjee Lee in Shanghai.

"They have been in very good form this season. I'm expecting to learn more from them," she said.

Nine 2025 LPGA Tour rookies played well enough over the course of the season to earn a spot in the field in Shanghai, including Julia Lopez Ramirez, Jenny Bae, Ina Yoon and Saki Baba.
