Pit and fissure sealant have significant preventive effects on carious teeth. The best time for a child to receive pit and fissure sealant is between 6 and 12 years old.

During the procedure, dental sealants, which are thin coatings, are applied on the chewing surfaces of molars to prevent tooth decay.
