Address: 128 Zhaojiabang Rd | 肇嘉浜路128号
The event retains its 24-player invitational format, featuring:
- The world's top 16 ranked players;
- The top four ranked Chinese players will be included, and if any of them are already among the top 16, their spots will be filled by the next highest-ranked players;
- Four wildcard entrants.
Confirmed participants include World No. 1 Judd Trump, Mark Williams, Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Higgins, as well as Mark Selby, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy and others.
Remarkably, a record five of the top 16 are Chinese players – the most ever in the event's history. The list includes Zhao Xintong, China's and Asia's first world champion, and Ding Junhui (丁俊晖), a leading figure of Chinese snooker.
A total of 23 matches, including the final, will take place.
On July 29, Ding Junhui will take to the table, kicking off the excitement.
The following evening, July 30, Table 1 will again be in the spotlight, featuring Zhao Xintong, along with Ronnie O'Sullivan competing that same night.
Four wildcard spots are designated to showcase China's emerging talent:
Two spots will be filled by players selected according to the regulations of the Chinese Billiards Sports Association.
The remaining two spots will be determined through a wildcard qualifying tournament in early July, where local contenders will compete for their place.
