Shanghai police announced that traffic restrictions will be in effect in the downtown area around the Bund from 8pm on December 31, 2025, to 1am on January 1, 2026.

During this period, all vehicles will be prohibited from entering the area enclosed by the following roads (excluding the roads themselves): Beisuzhou Road, Xizang Road N., Xizang Road M., Beijing Road W., Chengdu Road N., Yan'an Road E., Xizang Road S., Fuxing Road E., Waimalu Road, and the Huangpu riverside.

The Jiangxi Road off-ramp on the south side of Yan'an Elevated Road will be temporarily closed, while motor vehicles will still be allowed to use the Bund Tunnel to access the area.

Emergency vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and engineering rescue vehicles on duty will be permitted to enter the restricted zone during the traffic control period.

Police will adjust the timing and scope of the restrictions as needed, based on actual road conditions.

Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel in advance.
