No price increase for faster Fuxing train service

Tickets on Fuxing, China's new-generation high-speed bullet train, will remain the same price as that of other high-speed bullet trains after the speed increase. 

From September 21, seven pairs of Fuxing train services will run at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour between Shanghai and Beijing. The seven pairs are G1/G2, G3/G4, G5/G6, G7/G8, G9/G10, G13/G14 and G17/G18, the country's official train ticketing website said on Wednesday.

The higher speed will make traveling between the two cities just 4 hours and 28 minutes, 21 minutes faster than before. Travel times between Shanghai and Nanjing will also be cut.

After the speed increase, tickets will still be sold at the previous price: 553 yuan (US$83) for a second-class seat, 933 yuan for a first-class seat, and 1,748 yuan for business class.

From September 21, there will be three pairs of train services added in the Yangtze River area, and the routes of 10 existing pairs will be adjusted, according to the Shanghai Railway Bureau.
