Three Killed in Sanya Beach Stabbing, One Suspect Caught

Three people were killed in a violent stabbing on Sanya's Dadonghai beach around noon on December 6, according to a statement from the local police. Officers caught a 52-year-old suspect, surnamed Ren, at the scene.

A preliminary investigation found that the suspect and the three victims were all migrant workers from outside Hainan Province. They had a dispute in Sanya in 2023 following a minor vehicle collision. When they encountered each other again on the beach, another quarrel broke out and escalated into a physical fight. Ren then used a fruit knife to stab the three men.

Two victims died at the scene, while the third died after emergency treatment failed. Police said the case is under further investigation.
